29 – The Kobo Difference

Welcome back to The Book Launch Show. Today on the podcast, Valerie interviews Mark Leslie Lefebvre, an author, professional speaker and bookseller and has recently joined Draft2Digital as their Director of Business Development. Prior to that, Mark worked as the Director of Publishing and Author Relations for Kobo and was the driving force behind the creation of Kobo Writing Life. Kobo is a Canadian company that was founded in December 2009 and is one of the world’s fastest-growing eReading services, offering more than 5 million eBooks and magazines to millions of users across the world. In October 2018, Mark put everything he knows about publishing with Kobo into his book, Killing it On Kobo, and that’s what we’re going to talk about today. Now when it comes to selling and buying books, Amazon can definitely overshadow that market, especially in the United States. So in this episode, part one of the conversation, Valerie and Mark talk all about Kobo and discuss some of the options that it provides for authors to market their books worldwide.
